2 Nov 2009 - Yarrow Museum - A Walk Through Time

On Monday, 2nd November Yarrow Primary School became a Museum and invited the whole community to come along and enjoy the exhibition showing the past, present and future of the School and Community.

The pupils of Yarrow and Ettrick Primary Schools have worked collaboratively since August to research the history of the schools, compare their findings to the schools and community nowadays and to think about how the schools and communities might change in the future.

We had several visits from former pupils of Yarrow Primary School who helped our pupils with their research.  We are very welcome to Karen, Jim and Shiela for all their help.  It was invaluable and a fantastic contribution to our project.

This is how we though schools of the future might look:

The pupils trained hard to be effective tour guides and did an excellent job.  Everyone commented on how professional, polite and confident our tour guides were.  Well done all of you!

People from all over our community visited our museum and found themselves spending several hours looking through our work.

The pupils of Yarrow Primary School have proven themselves to be effective contributors to their community, successful learners, responsible citizens and certainly confident individuals.  Our school and community are very proud of these young people.

Well done everyone and thank you to all in our community for their valued support.
